Topics covered during this term are electricity and magnetism, optics, special relativity, and quantum theory. See below for complete sequence. PHY 2053 - General Physics I to be taken concurrently with PHY 2053L - General Physics I Laboratory General Physics is geared towards students majoring in the Sciences. For students wishing to take General Physics involving the use of calculus, please see PHY 2048 . Students may sign up for this course without being placed by the Testing Center or meeting with the Associate Dean. This course is transferrable in a degree seeking program. The accompanying laboratory (PHY 2054L) is offered concurrently.
