PHY 2053 - General Physics I - (BC Course Description and Outline)

Part one of a general physics course employing algebra and trigonometry to explain the quantitative aspects of mechanics, properties of matter, heat and sound. See below for the complete sequence:

PHY 2053 - General Physics I to be taken concurrently with PHY 2053L - General Physics I Laboratory
PHY 2054 - General Physics II to be taken concurrently with PHY 2054L - General Physics II Laboratory

General Physics is geared towards students majoring in the Sciences.

For students wishing to take General Physics involving the use of calculus for problem solving, please see PHY 2048.

Students may sign up for this course without being placed by the Testing Center or meeting with the Associate Dean. This course is transferrable in a degree seeking program.

The accompanying laboratory (PHY 2053L) is offered concurrently.

Prerequisite: MAC 1114 and MAC 1140
Pre or Corequisite: PHY 2053L
