MCB 2010 - Microbiology
An introduction to microbiology emphasizing principles of basic morphology, physiology, modes of transmission, biochemistry and genetic mechanisms. It will include a survey of representative types of microorganisms and the role of pathogenic organisms in causing diseases and infections.

Students may sign up for this course without being placed by the Testing Center or meeting with the Associate Dean.

Microbiology is geared towards students seeking a degree in Nursing and other Allied Health Technology majors. This course is not usually accepted by other universities for a Science track degree.

The accompanying lab (MCB 2010L) is offered concurrently.

Prerequisites: BSC 2085, BSC 2085L, and CHM 1032

MCB 2010L - Microbiology Laboratory
This lab course will complement lecture topics and include the application of fundamental techniques in the isolation, cultivation, and identification of microorganisms.

Microbiology is geared towards students seeking a degree in Nursing and other Allied Health Technology majors. This course is not usually accepted by other universities for a Science track degree.

This course is offered concurrently with MCB 2010.
